Planning application fees continue to be challenging for even professional agents to calculate so I am always looking for a way to facilitate calculation. I know the Scottish Government has a good application but nonetheless I tried to write my own. Feel free to use it but for important projects please double check the calculations.

AI is kind of outstanding at code. I took my flow diagram previously published here and used it as instruction for an AI coding platform here’s the resulting application.

Features

• Adjusts parameters as you adjust the Category of Development
• Category of development as per Table 1 Part 3 of the Town and Country (Fees for Applications)(Scotland) Regulations 2022
• Should keep you right on what parameters are required to determine the fee associated with the most important Categories of development
• Copy button to allow easy transfer of calculations

Not quite one shotted it more like 3 but seems competent to me although be warned I haven’t done extensive testing.
