Importance of the Audit
The Housing Land Audit is an annual count of future housing coming forward and a record of historical completions on former site. It is a principle reference document for both sides in Planning Appeals. As such Housing Land Audits are important documents of the plan making process, for the Evidence Report, Delivery Programme and for monitoring.
I believe they are issuing this in a continual attempt to improve consistency in the production on HLA documentation by Local Authorities.
